APPROVED FIRE SAFETY PLANS

A fire safety plan is a very important part of your overall fire and life safety program within the building. The fire safety plan will cover all detailed information required by the local Fire Department and/or is to be readily available at all times at the entrance of the building. The local Fire Department will be given an approved copy of this plan for their continued monitoring of your premises and reference during their inspection visits or during a fire emergency. As a BC Fire Code requirement, the plan guides the building operator and or property managers in the implementation of fire and life safety procedures such as conducting the required occupant evacuation fire drills. The BC Fire Code indicates that an approved fire safety plan is to be revised whenever there are changes in building and emergency staff, keeping the information current at all times.
